Ms.Monika’s Online Art Class I-EP小学部木偶奇遇记

在线上授课期间,I-EP(IB课程)小学部的艺术课采用自主任务(教师提供学习资源和任务,学生根据指引自学)+Q&A(线上平台问答)的模式进行。一个多月以来,孩子们每周根据学习平台上的指引完成并上传艺术任务作品。老师布置的任务种类多样、形式新鲜有趣,激发了孩子们的动手兴趣,帮助孩子们居家享受艺术创作的乐趣。


在这样的模式下,PYP的艺术老师Ms. Monika是怎样利用现处城市的资源来教小朋友们制作木偶的呢?她又是怎么培养学生的独立性和创造性的呢?两个简短的任务启发视频将带我们走进孩子们的《木偶奇遇记》——

I’m aware that nowadays not every one have the access to materials, and I give choices to kids.  I saw lots of nice works even from the children who didn’t have materials. They did it with what they found at home: corn leaves, old boxes, small pieces of paper, etc. One boy was inspired by one puppet in the video, which is a cat that can move its legs. And he decided to make a puppet of a dog. I’m pretty sure he did it by himself by observing from video how the puppet works.


我知道在这个特殊时期有些同学家里可能没有美术材料,所以我会给他们选择。最后我看到很多很棒的作品,这其中很多是没有材料的同学完成的。他们用家里找到的一些材料,比如玉米叶、废纸箱、小纸张进行制作。还有个男孩被视频中的一个四肢能动的猫木偶激发起灵感,然后他就模仿着做了一只能动的小狗。我确信他是靠自己观察视频中的木偶自己动手完成的。

Generally, my kids are taught how to be independent in art class from the beginning. I teach them how to do things but there is a huge place for them to make decision. I am giving choices, not ask them to copy. For me, it is very important to teach them to be independent and how to solve creative problems, because this help them solve other problems in the future. When they are adults or teenagers they will be able to think out of the box, they won’t be stuck with only one idea or one solution. This is my goal for those kids with this kind of teaching that I want to promote.


在我一贯的教学中,我从一开始就非常注重在艺术课上培养学生的独立能力。我教他们如何做,但会给他们留出很大的选择空间,我让他们做选择,而不只是模仿。对我来说,教孩子独立创作和解决问题的能力是非常重要的,因为这种能力对他们未来解决其他问题至关重要。他们长大后就能够创造性地解决问题而不是囿于单一的想法或解决办法。这就是我的教学目标,就是我想提倡的。
