LEARNING AT I-EP
Information Communication Technology

In I-EP, we believe that our students to need to be literate in technology. In I-EP we identify four strands of I.C.T. These are:

•    Programming

•    Robotics

•    Digital Citizenship

•    Developing proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Programming

Students will learn how to code and use basic programming language. Students start to learn programming from Grade One to Grade six, increasing the complexity of the code as they progress through the grades.

Robotics

Students will learn how to program robots to follow instructions. Students will learn how to operate robots and to maintain the robots.

Digital Citizenship

As we become more and more dependent on the internet, students need to learn about how to be safe online. Students will learn about what it means to be a digital citizen. This means students will learn about how to use the internet safely and learn about the potential threats that are online.

Developing proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

As students progress through their academic lives; they will need to learn how to be proficient in different software. By training students in these software, they will have the necessary skills to be ready for their future studies.

Students will have access to Ipads and Computers to help them achieve these different strands. ICT is also taught within the context of the UOI.
